Almost two weeks already!
I’ve been unemployed, for the first time in my adult life, for almost two weeks already. Two weeks ago tomorrow, I lost my job at Sun Microsystems, which I joined on July 7, 1986.
After two weeks of unemployment, I have one question: how is it that my house is still not clean? I really think it should be clean by now. Yet all I’ve managed to do is a bit of laundry, some freecycling, put the Christmas ornaments back into the attic (before Feb 1, by a few days), sorted through a stack of mail…. I did not even do the filing yet.
I did help serve the homeless hot breakfast at a church in downtown San Jose Friday morning, though. And I do have a List of Important Things To Do, which I’m working my way through. One of them was to create this blog and that has been a lot of fun.
Yes – cleaning the house is on my List, it is just taking longer than I expected.
