Time Management

July 31, 2015

I was chatting (via Slack) this morning with a volunteer (an awesome amazing wonderful volunteer, JC, working as the enable events coordinator, managing calendars and doing other work I don’t even know about) about the importance of defending our own time and life balance. It is best to pick the volunteer work that gives us energy, at least some of the time, rather than trying to do all the work that needs to be done. The latter is like housework – it is never going to go away. Some minimums are necessary, but others can pitch in and help, and if you martyr yourself, no one wins.

Me: I am a big fan of the 7 habits, do you know about the Important/Urgent four quadrants?

Her: No…I don’t know that…

Me: google 7 habits four quadrants

Then I noticed one of the images that came up and liked it so much I decided to post it here. The nick names for the quadrants are not part of the official dogma, but I like them! The tagline that I always remember is that Quadrant II is where you practice your quality of life and work.

Four Quadrants

Classic quadrants with fun nick names added.
